The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission(IPC) is an Autonomous Body ,set up under the ministry of Health & family Welfare primarily with the objective of periodically updating of the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the book of standards for the drugs; the National Formulary of India, the book of reference on the Drugs; and other related tasks such as preparing, certification and distribution of reference substance; assist the National Pharmacovigilance Programme; testing of new drugs and review of technical dossier of drugs for purpose of monograph development for Indian Pharmacopoeia. It promotes rational use of medicines through generic prescriptions. The IPC on path of evolving as a modern scientific institution of international standard

In order to ensure that the content - quality and presentation of the Indian Pharmacopoeia - 2018 (IP - 2018) is comparable to the best Pharmacopoeia in the world and is released on time, the Commission invites applications from the best knowledgeable professionals for appointment on Contract for the following positions: -

Senior Pharmacopoeia Scientist:
Qualifications:
(a) Essential:
(i) PhD. Degree from a recognized University / Institute in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Bio-chemistry / Biotechnology / Pharmacology / Microbiology / Chemistry from a recognized University / Institute in any of the related fields;
(ii) Experience: Ten years of post qualification experience, including five years in research / testing / analysis in the field of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals
Or
(i) MD from a recognized University / Institute in Phamacology.
(ii) Experience: Six years of post qualification experience, including three years in research / testing / analysis in the field of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals.

Desirable:
(i) Research papers/patents in any of the fields specified in essential qualifications above. The claim must be supported by submitting relevant paper(s)/documents published/ drug analysis experience.
(ii) Experience in interpretation of analytical specifications of drugs & pharmaceuticals. (iii) Experience of working on MS Office –Word, Excel, Power point etc.

Monthly Remunerations: Up   to   a   maximum   of  Rs. 1,00,000/ -

Pharmacopoeia Scientist:
Qualifications:
(a) Essential:
(i) Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University / Institute in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Bio-chemistry / Biotechnology / Pharmacology / Microbiology / Chemistry from a recognized University / Institute in any of the related fields.
(ii) Experience: Three years of post qualification experience in research / testing / analysis in the field of Drugs & Pharmaceuticals. Note: Ph.D. Degree in any of the fields specified above shall be considered equivalent to three years of work experience.
(b) Desirable:
(i) Research papers / patents in any of the fields specified in essential qualifications above The claim must be supported by submitting relevant paper(s) / documents published/ drug analysis experience;
(ii) Experience in interpretation of analytical specifications of drugs & pharmaceuticals.
(iii) Experience of working on MS Office –Word, Excel, Power point etc.

Monthly Remunerations: Up to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/ -

The consolidated monthly remuneration may be based on the qualifications, subject knowledge, resourcefulness, past track record and presentation of the candidates in the interview / personal discussion. The appointment shall initially be for a period of two years which may be extended, on half yearly basis, based on evaluation of their performance.
