Report Excerpt3.4.7.1 Market Forecast 2011-2021
During the forecast period, it is expected that there will be significant consolidation within the Italian pharmaceutical wholesale market. At present, there are over 200 wholesalers; there are more there than in other Western European countries. This consolidation will bring efficiencies to the market, improving the revenues and margins of the biggest players, visiongain predicts. In the early part of our forecast period, however, wholesalers will be negatively affected by the government’s decision to halve their margins.
